Online 2D CAD software
CADO is 2D CAD software that runs in your browser.
Create, view and edit technical drawings online. Open a DXF or DWG exactly as AutoCAD drew it, draft with the same commands and snaps, lay it out on paper, plot to PDF and write the DXF back out. Your drawings are versioned in your account and shareable with a link.

- Model spaceFull-size geometry on the grid, in real units.
- Layer · WALLSLineweight 0.50 mm. Off, frozen or locked per layer.
- Layer · DOORSOne door block, placed three times.
- Layer · DIMSAssociative dimensions that follow the geometry.
- Layer · HATCHBoundary-detected hatch, regenerated when walls move.
- Paper spaceAn A3 layout with a scaled viewport and title block.
A viewport, not a picture
It behaves like the CAD you learned on.
Move your pointer over the sheet and the coordinates track it in millimetres. Scroll, and the plan drafts itself in the order you would draw it: walls, openings, dimensions, hatch.
What is CADO?
Online 2D CAD, defined in one paragraph.
CADO is browser-based 2D CAD software for creating, viewing and editing technical drawings online.
It opens DXF and DWG files, drafts with the commands, aliases and object snaps that AutoCAD users already know, lays drawings out in model and paper space and plots to PDF. It runs in a browser tab on Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS, so there is nothing to install and nothing to license per machine. cado.website is its official website.
All frequently asked questions- What can you do with CADO?
- Draw and edit 2D geometry, manage layers and blocks with attributes, add associative dimensions, hatches, text and tables, set up layouts with viewports, plot to PDF, SVG or PNG, and export DXF. Every save is a version; every drawing can be shared by link. See every command
- Who is CADO for?
- Architects, engineers and drafters who work in 2D; students learning CAD on whatever laptop they have; studios and teams that want one shared set of drawings; and product teams that want a drafting surface inside their own product. Read the use cases
- Which files does CADO open?
- DXF, read and written. DWG, converted to DXF when you upload it. PDF, SVG, PNG and JPG are exported; PNG and JPG images can also be placed as tracing underlays. DXF compatibility notes
- 70+drafting commandsEach with its AutoCAD alias, from L to DIMSTYLE.

How a drawing moves through CADO
From a file on your desk to a sheet in someone's inbox.
Five steps, all in one tab. The command line on the left follows along.
01
Open a DXF, or start blank
Drop a file on the dashboard or open it from CAD. Parsing runs in a Web Worker, so a large survey never blocks the UI, and the drawing renders as AutoCAD renders it: dimension values, text, fonts and lineweights included.
02
Draft with the commands you know
Type L, C, TR or F and answer the same prompts. Fifteen object snaps, ortho and polar tracking and dynamic input next to the cursor keep the geometry exact. Grips, undo and the properties panel behave the way your hands expect.
03
Annotate so it survives edits
Dimensions attach to geometry and follow it. Hatch regenerates when its boundary moves. Blocks carry attributes, so a plan can be counted into a schedule with a table instead of retyped.
04
Lay it out on paper
Add a layout, set the paper, place viewports at 1:50 or 1:100, fill the title block. The same model can carry a general arrangement and a detail sheet without duplicating a line.
05
Plot, export, share
Plot to PDF with real lineweights, export SVG or an image, or write the DXF back out with its own layers, blocks and linetypes. Save keeps a version; a share link lets a reviewer open it in their browser too.
Capabilities
Seventy-odd commands, and the aliases your fingers remember.
Pick a group. Each command is listed with the alias you would type, next to a real screenshot of where it lives. Nothing here is a mock-up.
Draw
Lines to splines, with snaps and dynamic input
The full 2D primitive set, typed or clicked. Every tool takes coordinates at the command line, relative or polar, and every point can snap to one of fifteen object snaps or track along ortho and polar guides.

AI drafting assistant
Say what you mean. Review what it will do. Undo if you change your mind.
The assistant turns plain English into ordinary editor commands — including new geometry — then validates them before anything touches the drawing. It runs against a model you choose with your own key: Claude direct from Anthropic, or any model through OpenRouter.
- Understands targets. Colour words are filters, "on layer X" is a scope, "selected" is the current selection. An ambiguous request asks instead of guessing.
- Classifies risk. Every plan is labelled safe, review or destructive; destructive ones need a confirmation.
- Stays undoable and private. Actions land on the same undo stack as your own edits, and the audit log lives in your browser, not on our servers.

Cloud drawings
Never lose a line. Never lose an argument about which file is current.
Drawings save to your account with Ctrl+S, and every 30 seconds unsaved work is snapshotted in the browser in case the tab dies. Offline, the save is kept locally and goes through the next time you press Save with a connection.
- Version history
- Every save is kept and can be restored from the dashboard.
- Conflict detection
- A save against a stale version is refused with Overwrite, Save as copy or Reload.
- Folders, trash, search
- A file manager for drawings: My Drawings with folders, Recent, Shared with me, Trash.
- Organizations
- Owner, admin, member and viewer roles; shared folders; view or edit links you can email.
